Setting up your first farmers market booth doesn't need to be complicated. For a 10x10 booth you need four things: shade over your head, enough weight to keep the tent down, a table that looks tidy, and a way for people to spot you from the end of the row. Everything else can wait until you know the market is worth coming back to.
We print all of it, and our designers make the artwork for you, so you don't need a designer or even a finished logo. Here's what each piece does, in plain words, and what we'd skip on day one.
First Market Booth Checklist
For a basic 10x10 setup, start with:
- a 10x10 event tent
- weights for all four legs
- a folding table
- a table cover
- your business name where people can see it
- your products, prices and a way to take payment
Nice to add later: a back wall, side or half walls, a feather flag, more signs.
Call the Organizer Before You Buy Anything
Every market has its own rules, and a quick call or email saves you from buying the wrong thing. Ask them:
- how big your space is
- whether tents have to be weighted, and how heavy the weights must be
- whether you can put up a flag
- whether they need a fire safety certificate for the tent
The Tent Is Your Biggest Sign

If most of the tents around you are plain white, a roof with your name and colors is the first thing people see from the far end of the row. That's why the canopy, the fabric roof, is the first thing worth printing.
A custom 10x10 event tent covers a space 10 feet by 10 feet. We print the canopy edge to edge: the four triangle panels on the roof, and the strip of fabric that hangs down around the edge, called the valance. The valance sits right at eye level for people walking by, so it's the place for your name or one short line about what you sell.
If your space is bigger, there are 10x15 and 10x20 tents too, and all our custom event tents are in one place.
A few things worth knowing about ours, since you'll set it up and take it down a lot:
- the frame is heavy-duty aluminum with thick six-sided legs, 40 mm across
- it opens like an accordion with a crank handle, and the legs slide to set the height
- the whole tent weighs about 51 lb
- the canopy is a heavy polyester tent fabric with a waterproof coating, and it's flame retardant
Weigh Down Every Leg

A canopy catches wind the way a sail does. Even on a calm morning, put weight on every leg before you unpack anything else.
Our sandbags wrap around each leg with Velcro and hold up to 19 lb of sand each. They travel empty, and you fill them with sand or gravel when you get there.
Make the Table Look Like Part of the Booth

A folding table with boxes underneath looks temporary. A printed table cover hides the boxes and puts your name at the height where people actually stop and talk.
If you stand behind the table, go with an open back cover, so you can still reach your stock. If people can walk all the way around it, go with a closed back. A fitted cover has sewn corners and stays put in the wind. A stretch cover pulls tight and hooks around each table leg.
Give People Something to Find You By

Regulars look for you over the tops of the other tents. A small flag clamped to one tent leg rises above the roof line and takes no floor space. If the market allows it, a tall custom feather flag next to the booth does the same job from farther away.
If the Organizer Asks About Fire Safety
Some events ask for proof that the tent fabric is flame retardant. Our canopy fabric is inherently flame retardant and registered with the California State Fire Marshal (Reg. No. F-100605), and we can send you a copy of the certificate. Rules differ by state, city and event, so check with the organizer that it meets theirs.
What Can Wait

Walls. A printed tent back wall blocks wind and sun and turns the back of the booth into one more big sign. Half walls on the sides, and mesh walls for hot days, are nice once you know the market. They all attach to the same frame, so you can add them later.
Same with the canopy. If it ever wears out, or you change your logo, you can order a new printed canopy for the frame you already have.
You Don't Need a Designer, or Even a Logo
If design is the part that worries you, leave it to us. You're not ordering a tent, a flag and a table cover from three different places and hoping they match. We lay out the roof, the walls, the flag and the table cover so they look like one set.
Prefer to do some of it yourself? The table cover and the feather flag can be designed in our online design editor, right in your browser on a computer, with a live 3D preview so you see the finished piece before you order. Designing it yourself also saves 10% on the print (up to $10). The tent itself is designed by our team.
Whichever way you go, our team checks every design before it goes to print, and you get a proof to approve. Nothing gets printed until you say it's right.
Once you approve, your order ships in 1-2 business days and usually arrives 2-5 business days later. Give yourself a few weeks before your first market, so there's time for changes. If you already have a date, tell us and we'll plan around it.
Why We Put Together the Tent Bundle
A tent on its own isn't a booth yet. You also need weights, and a 51 lb tent is a lot easier to roll in a wheeled bag than to carry. So we put the three together.
The Tent Bundle includes:
- the 10x10 frame with your custom printed canopy
- four fillable sandbags
- a wheeled carry bag
It's $899, $87 less than buying the same pieces separately. Design is free when we print it, and ground shipping is free in the lower 48.
Want the full booth from day one? Add a printed back wall and a fitted table cover, and we'll design all of it as one set. You'll find the rest of our tents and tent accessories in the shop.
